We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic Finance Team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of general accounting and bookkeeping practices, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is essential to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. The Finance Assistant will support various members of the finance team by assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, assist with financial reporting, and contribute to maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
The applicant must reside in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily tasks in the finance department
- Intercompany billing/donor pledges (customer invoices)
- Weekly Deposits
- Vendor account maintenance and entry
- Monthly review of contractor files for tracking information needed for 1099 filing
- Report Grants Received to the Development Team
- Confirm Grants Received and Distributed
- Prepare annual report of grants received and grants distributed
- Communicate with Directors concerning outstanding approvals
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Importing financial transactions (Cash App, PayPal) into the accounting system (QBO)
- Support the CFO with various financial activities & other administrative duties as needed.
Requirements
- A solid understanding of general accounting and bookkeeping practices, including accounts payable, account receivable, journal entries, and expense tracking, with specific application to the financial operations of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit organizations is a must.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years' experience
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Proficient with QBO, bill.com, Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Travel Bank Expense Management system is a plus
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Excellent communications skills
- Occasional meetings at central office in Atlanta.

- Some experience with Sage is a plus
This position reports to: This position will report to the CFO.
Salary & benefits: $54,000-$56,000, plus unlimited PTO, 401K, medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability and $25,000 life insurance benefits.
